Finishing up plans for Christmas. Our Spectacular Spectacular is going to be the morning of December 13 - both services.
We start rehearsing on September 16. I start charting next week. And I can already tell it's going to be one of those services, that is WAY out of my control.
I was sifting through music (my iTunes library has over 16,000 tunes in it . . . ) and a friend walked in today, and let me hear a song, not knowing that I was planning Christmas, and WHAMMO . . . there it was. I continue to be amazed at the different ways that the Spirit shows up when planning major things . . .
So this Christmas, we're reminded, again, despite where we are, how we feel, what we've done, where we think we're going, or how we think we're stuck, God - from the beginning of time, had a grand plan for our restoration and participation in His glory, and we get to celebrate that, in our very own context.

Monday Morning Recap for Sunday - July 26 (on Tuesday)
This blog is pathetic. (By the way, if you're reading this on Facebook, it's because my profile automatically pulls in content from my blog - at http://www.jasonsears.com)
I've been out of town a bit this summer, and doing some other projects, so i haven't been putting any time or thought into the blog, except for these Monday morning recaps, which may be helpful - i don't know.
This past Sunday morning was the 6th Annual Bullfrog Choir. And it was awesome. About 120 guys getting up and leading in worship - singing melody, and making a HUGE noise. There's never any prep, and no experience required. Just show up and sing. I'm already looking forward to next year.
We opened with Your Grace is Enough.
After our call to worship, we sang Awesome is the Lord Most High, Arise, Blessed Be Your Name, Great is Thy Faithfulness, and He Knows My Name.
For our offering song, we sang I Have a Hope, by Tommy Walker. Again - great song writer. If you're not using his stuff in worship - look him up on iTunes.

Monday morning recap for Sunday - July 19

I was out of town yesterday, and had Jeff Sauceda in my stead . . .
He opened the service with Hosanna (Baloche).
After the call to worship, they sang Amazing God (B. Brown), Our God Saves, O Worship the King, and How Great is Our God.
For the offering song, Jeff sang an original called The Cross.
Coming up this weekend we have our 6th Annual Bullfrog Choir. It's one of my favorite Sundays of the year - as we invite ANY guy, young and old, singer or NOT, to come and join us in leading in worship. Last year we had over 120 guys standing on the stage, singing . . . croaking. The rules are this: There really aren't any rules. Simply show up this Sunday at 8:00. You sing what you would normally sing in the pew. The songs are all very familiar. We'll lead for both services. Email or call me with any questions!

It was great to be back at Oak Mountain this morning. I was on vacation last week, and will be gone this coming weekend as well.
This morning, we opened with Indescribable.
After our call to worship we sang Let God Arise, Never Let Go, How Great Thou Art, and Grace Falls Down.
For our offering song, we sang Center, by Charlie Hall. Great tune.
During the Lord's Supper, we sang You Gave Your Life Away (Baloche) and Jenny sang Make Something Beautiful.
Our Youth are in St Louis, our Women are in Northern Ireland, as well as our Sr Pastor . . .
